Dynamic Software Solutions Acquires Perth Software Provider Softlog Systems – Services – Software

Dynamic Software Solutions, the solutions division of retailer Dynamic Supplies Group, has acquired Softlog Systems, a Perth-based cost recovery and management software provider.

The acquisition aims to integrate Softlog’s software offering into DSS’ cloud services in the short term, with a longer term plan to develop cloud solutions.

Softlog’s cost recovery and management software platform specializes in electronic data entry for the legal, accounting and strata management industries.

“When DSS’s Andrew Tsiorvas first approached me, I was concerned about customers and staff. DSS was able to clearly articulate a vision for product, customers and staff, which led to further conversations,” said Jim Raeside, director of Softlog Systems.

“After convincing me that Softlog would be in good hands and that the future was clearly defined, we were able to close the sale quickly.”

Some of the near-term additions to DSS’s product portfolio include scan to iManage, office productivity, off-network printing, and guest printing for law firms.

Under DSS, the Softlog business will be led by DSS Senior Account Manager, Derek Lawton. Softlog Director Derek Farrell will also remain as a consultant, while all other enterprise support staff will continue to support customers under DSS.

Lawton said: “The future is in the cloud and working anywhere. Networks have disintegrated and VPN requirements are gone. Anywhere there is the internet and a laptop, people expect to be able to work .”

“We built DSS Connect based on these requirements and will update Softlog to extend this vision.”

Lawton added that while cost recovery would be a core feature to adapt to the cloud, DSS’s vision is for a “much broader” solution.

“We will integrate Kofax Power PDF, OCR, document conversion, our document management system connectors and even our reforestation partnership with PrintReleaf will be part of a larger solution that enables a smarter and greener workplace” , did he declare.

Lawton said the acquisition would also complement Dynamic Supplies’ overall business and existing technology.

“We will be looking to offer Softlog customers capabilities such as OCR, desktop PDF, reforestation capabilities and more. I think everyone will benefit from the acquisition, especially law firms,” he added.

DSS was formerly known as PrintSolv, Dynamic Supplies Group’s managed print services provider. The group’s other businesses include technology distributor Dynamic Supplies Technology, computer and audio distributor XIT Distribution and printing consumables distributor Toner Warehouse.
